SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2     WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3 learn of the death of Joseph Charles Regis of Harlingen, Texas,
4 formerly of Waukegan, who passed away on August 13, 2007; and
 
5     WHEREAS, Joseph Charles Regis was born on May 29, 1929 in
6 Ahmeek, Michigan; his parents were Rosanna Jeannotte Regis and
7 Charles Joseph Regis; and
 
8     WHEREAS, Joseph Charles Regis served his country as an Army
9 Air Corp Radio Operator from 1947 to 1950 and was part of the
10 Berlin Air Lift; and
 
11     WHEREAS, Joseph Charles Regis retired from the Waukegan
12 Fire Department as a firefighter in 1978 after 23 years of
13 service; he worked for the Chicago Bears Football Club for 11
14 years from 1979 to 1990, winning a Super Bowl ring in 1985; he
15 was a volunteer at Valley Baptist Medical Center in Harlingen,
16 Texas during his retirement; and
 
17     WHEREAS, Joseph Charles Regis was a member of St. Anastasia
18 Church in Waukegan and a past member of Elks Club and Moose
19 Lodge; he was a sports enthusiast who especially loved
20 football, as well as bowling, dancing, country music, and
21 playing cards; and

1     WHEREAS, Joseph Charles Regis was preceded in death by his
2 parents and his beloved wife of over 26 years, Joycenee
3 McAllister Regis; and
 
4     WHEREAS, Joseph Charles Regis is survived by his daughters,
5 Suzanne (Roger) Lindemann, Debra (Grant) Farrell, Susan (Leon)
6 Anemone, Robin (David) Skidmore, Sandra Regis, and Michelle
7 Bell; his son, Richard (Helen) Regis; his 10 grandchildren; his
8 5 great-grandchildren; and his sisters, Theresa (Victor)
9 Beckman and Marie (Robert) Vaught; therefore, be it
 
10     RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL
11 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with
12 his family and friends, the passing of Joseph Charles Regis;
13 and be it further
 
14     RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
15 presented to the family of Joseph Charles Regis as an
16 expression of our sympathy.
