HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Verneda (Burrow) Barnette, who passed away on July 22, 2013; and

WHEREAS, Verneda Barnette was born on December 30, 1949, to Tom and Willie Marie Burrow; she graduated from Lucy Flowers High School and attended Chicago Teacher's College; she married Irving Barnette on July 27, 1968; and

WHEREAS, Verneda Barnette was a dedicated employee, friend, mother, grandmother, sister, and wife; and

WHEREAS, Verneda Barnette was preceded in death by her parents; her brothers, William (W.H.) and Wilbert; and her sisters, Wilma and Darlene; and

WHEREAS, Verneda Barnette is survived by her children, Irving LaCliff, Thomas Wesley, Theodore Weldon, Keena DeMara, and Bryant Anthony; her 21 grandchildren; her 3 great-grandchildren; her sister, Helen Williams; her aunt, Dorothy Agers; and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Verneda (Burrow) Barnette, and extend our sincere condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Verneda Barnette as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
