SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Tracey Darlene Williams of Danville, who passed away on January 12, 2014; and

WHEREAS, Tracey Williams was born in Danville on November 26, 1963 to Oscar L., Sr. and Maddie L. (nee Humphries) Williams; she attended Garfield and North Ridge junior high schools and was a 1981 graduate of Danville High School, where she was a member of the Pompettes Squad; she attended Danville Area Community College and Parkland College in Champaign; and

WHEREAS, Tracey Williams worked at Walgreens Accounting and the Danville Housing Authority and then worked as an administrative assistant to the Chief Executive Officer at Carle Hospital in Champaign; and

WHEREAS, Affectionately known as "Trace", "Day-dee", and "Chick-a-doc", Tracey Williams enjoyed shopping, music, movies, concerts, dining out, traveling, and entertaining family and friends; she was a talented interior decorator, gardener, and all around "Miss Fix-It"; she was a member of Bethel AME Church in Champaign; and

WHEREAS, Tracey Williams was preceded in death by her son, Malik Aziz; her father, Oscar Williams, Sr.; her sister, Katherine Williams-O'Keefe; her maternal and paternal grandparents; and her nephew, Torrence T. Williams; and

WHEREAS, Tracey Williams is survived by her mother, Maddie Williams; her siblings, Oscar, Jr. (Ofelia), Maddie Williams-Tate, Linda (Glen) Williams-Rowell, Tammy Williams, and Ann (Todd) Ault; her brother-in-law, Michael (Alma) O'Keefe; her special mom, Claudette Arrington; her best friend, Tonya Davis; and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Tracey Darlene Williams, and extend our sincere condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Tracey Williams as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
