SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Tracey Darlene Williams of Danville, who
4passed away on January 12, 2014; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Tracey Williams was born in Danville on November
626, 1963 to Oscar L., Sr. and Maddie L. (nee Humphries)
7Williams; she attended Garfield and North Ridge junior high
8schools and was a 1981 graduate of Danville High School, where
9she was a member of the Pompettes Squad; she attended Danville
10Area Community College and Parkland College in Champaign; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Tracey Williams worked at Walgreens Accounting
12and the Danville Housing Authority and then worked as an
13administrative assistant to the Chief Executive Officer at
14Carle Hospital in Champaign; and
 
15    WHEREAS, Affectionately known as "Trace", "Day-dee", and
16"Chick-a-doc", Tracey Williams enjoyed shopping, music,
17movies, concerts, dining out, traveling, and entertaining
18family and friends; she was a talented interior decorator,
19gardener, and all around "Miss Fix-It"; she was a member of
20Bethel AME Church in Champaign; and
 
21    WHEREAS, Tracey Williams was preceded in death by her son,

1Malik Aziz; her father, Oscar Williams, Sr.; her sister,
2Katherine Williams-O'Keefe; her maternal and paternal
3grandparents; and her nephew, Torrence T. Williams; and
 
4    WHEREAS, Tracey Williams is survived by her mother, Maddie
5Williams; her siblings, Oscar, Jr. (Ofelia), Maddie
6Williams-Tate, Linda (Glen) Williams-Rowell, Tammy Williams,
7and Ann (Todd) Ault; her brother-in-law, Michael (Alma)
8O'Keefe; her special mom, Claudette Arrington; her best friend,
9Tonya Davis; and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles,
10cousins, and friends; therefore, be it
 
11    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL
12ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
13Tracey Darlene Williams, and extend our sincere condolences to
14her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it
15further
 
16    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
17presented to the family of Tracey Williams as an expression of
18our deepest sympathy.
