SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Edward Frank Lewakowski of McHenry, who
4passed away on January 16, 2015; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Edward Lewakowski was born on December 21, 1932 in
6Chicago; his parents were John Z. and Irene (nee Lasecki)
7Lewakowski; he married Georgette N. (nee Grasser) Calcese on
8December 31, 1977 in Las Vegas, Nevada; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Edward Lewakowski was raised in Chicago and was a
10summer resident of McHenry for many years; he became a
11year-round resident of McHenry in the 1970s; and
 
12    WHEREAS, Edward Lewakowski served his country as a member
13of the United States Army during the Korean War; and
 
14    WHEREAS, Edward Lewakowski enjoyed a long career as an
15officer with the Berwyn Police Department; after leaving the
16department, he began Lew's Trucking in Berwyn in the early
171970s; he owned the company until selling it in 1977; and
 
18    WHEREAS, Edward Lewakowski enjoyed boating, golfing, and
19flying his private plane, a Cessna 172, out of the Westosha
20Airport; and

1    WHEREAS, Edward Lewakowski was a member of Moose Lodge 691,
2Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 4600, the McHenry Lions Club,
3American Legion Post 491, and Polish Legion of American
4Veterans Post 188; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Edward Lewakowski was preceded in death by a son,
6Anthony Calcese, and a grandson, Joseph; and
 
7    WHEREAS, Edward Lewakowski is survived by his wife of 37
8years, Georgette; 3 children, Edward Lewakowski, Joseph
9(Cheryl) Calcese, and Candace (Brian) Opon; and a
10granddaughter, Cristy Calcese; therefore, be it
 
11    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL
12ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his
13family and friends, mourn the passing of Edward Frank
14Lewakowski; and be it further
 
15    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
16presented to the family of Edward Lewakowski as an expression
17of our sympathy.
