SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of John Nienhuis of Marengo, who passed away on March 2, 2015; and

WHEREAS, John Nienhuis was born on August 22, 1946 in Chicago; his parents were Oney and Ella (nee Prufer) Nienhuis; he married Gloria Rowe on December 10, 1967 in Warren; and

WHEREAS, John Nienhuis worked for many years selling fertilizer for Crop Production Services in Richmond; and

WHEREAS, John Nienhuis was a member of the Lions Club in Union, where he served as secretary; he greatly enjoyed the charity work that he was able to do through the Lions Club; he also served on the Siems Park Board; and

WHEREAS, John Nienhuis enjoyed deer hunting and golfing; and

WHEREAS, John Nienhuis was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Robert Nienhuis; and

WHEREAS, John Nienhuis is survived by his wife, Gloria; a son, John (Sheryl) Nienhuis; and a brother, James (Ana) Nienhuis; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his family and friends, mourn the passing of John Nienhuis; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of John Nienhuis as an expression of our sympathy.
