SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Tracie McCain Hankins; and

WHEREAS, Tracie Hankins was born in Chicago on May 4, 1969 to Melvin, Sr. and Pauline McCain; at a young age, she became a member of the St. John Family in Chicago; she attended George M. Pullman Grammar School and George H. Corliss High School; and

WHEREAS, Tracie Hankins worked at Norfolk Southern Railroad for many years, before moving on to work for Metra Rail Lines as a Conductor; and

WHEREAS, Tracie Hankins married her long-time sweetheart, Robert Hankins, on September 26, 2006; and

WHEREAS, Tracie Hankins enjoyed being around her family and friends, playing with her cat, Max, mixing drinks, and going to concerts and dancing to house music; and

WHEREAS, Tracie Hankins is survived by her husband, Robert, Jr.; her son, Robert James; her mother, Pauline; her in-laws, Edna, Robert, Sr., and Bernice; her brothers, Melvin, Perry, Rickey, and Lynn; her sisters, Betty, Jeanette, Monica, and Tenille; her god-children, Lauren and Tyrese; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, and friends; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Tracie McCain Hankins, and extend our sincere condolences to her family, her friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Tracie Hankins as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
