1     AN ACT concerning police.
 
2     Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3 represented in the General Assembly:
 
4     Section 5. The Department of State Police Law of the Civil
5 Administrative Code of Illinois is amended by changing Section
6 2605-5 as follows:
 
7     (20 ILCS 2605/2605-5)
8     Sec. 2605-5. Definitions. In this Law:
9     "Department" means the Department of State Police.
10     "Director" means the Director of State Police.
11     "Missing endangered senior" means an individual 65 years of
12 age or older or a person with Alzheimer's disease or related
13 dementias who is reported missing to a law enforcement agency
14 and is, or is believed to be:
15         (1) a temporary or permanent resident of Illinois;
16         (2) at a location that cannot be determined by an
17     individual familiar with the missing individual; and
18         (3) incapable of returning to the individual's
19     residence without assistance.

21     Section 10. The Illinois Police Training Act is amended by
22 changing Section 10.10 as follows:

1     (50 ILCS 705/10.10)
2     Sec. 10.10. Training in child abduction and missing
3 endangered senior alert system. The Board shall conduct a
4 training programs program for law enforcement personnel of
5 local governmental agencies in the statewide coordinated child
6 abduction alert system developed under Section 2605-480 of the
7 Department of State Police Law of the Civil Administrative Code
8 of Illinois and the statewide coordinated missing endangered
9 senior alert system developed under Section 2605-375 of the
10 Department of State Police Law of the Civil Administrative Code
11 of Illinois.

13     Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect January
14 1, 2010.
