HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The Planning and Organizing Committees of the National Black Agenda Convention will hold their 2012 convention in the City of Chicago from September 14-15, 2012; and

WHEREAS, The National Black Agenda Convention seeks to focus attention to the present circumstances that impact Black communities throughout the United States and to the creation of effective responses to those circumstances; and

WHEREAS, The National Black Agenda Convention and its guests also address how America's policies impact Black people throughout Africa and the world and collaborate on the development of a sustainable Strategic Plan for implementation of community serviced programs from the Nationwide Issues Forums and Issues Committees recommendations; and

WHEREAS, The National Black Agenda Convention and its guests serve as models of hard work, integrity, and dedication for the people of the State of Illinois; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we honor the members of the National Black Agenda Convention for their work in addressing issues that affect the Black community in the United States and welcome the members of the convention's committees and their guests to the State of Illinois; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the Planning and Organizing Committees of the National Black Agenda Convention as a symbol of our esteem and respect.
