HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives are pleased to congratulate the members of the Small Business Advocacy Council on the occasion of the organization's first anniversary of advocacy on behalf of small businesses; and

WHEREAS, The Small Business Advocacy Council (SBAC) was formed by a group of business owners and professionals who became convinced that the only way to be heard was to organize and pool their resources together; the SBAC is a non-partisan 501(c)(6) non-profit organization that is intensely focused on the issues that impact small businesses; and

WHEREAS, The SBAC seeks to strongly support its members by providing networking, advertising, and promotional opportunities that will sustain those that care enough to stand with small business and hard-working Americans; and

WHEREAS, Over 230 businesses have joined the SBAC since March of 2010, including law firms, real estate brokers, commercial property owners, restaurants, radio personalities, corporate executives, accounting firms, insurance agencies, general contractors, film producers, traders, venture capitalists, and business coaches, among many others; and

WHEREAS, The SBAC has created numerous beneficial programs for its members, including an Office Sharing program that affords members access to meeting space in the City of Chicago and the suburbs at no cost and complimentary Happy Hour events every month; the organization is also in the process of forming a health insurance pool for its members; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate the members of the Small Business Advocacy Council on the occasion of the organization's first anniversary of advocacy and wish them the best of luck on their one-year anniversary celebration on June 16, 2011; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the Small Business Advocacy Council as a symbol of our esteem and respect.
