HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives are pleased to congratulate the partners and employees of Benford Brown & Associates, LLC (BB&A) on the occasion of the firm's 15th anniversary; and

WHEREAS, Benford Brown & Associates is a certified, minority, woman-owned CPA firm that provides auditing, accounting, and tax and small business consulting services for its clients, which include not-for-profit groups, State and local governments, higher education, and the professional service, mortgage brokerage, and construction industries; and

WHEREAS, Benford Brown & Associates was founded in late 1996 by Alyssia Benford-Lee and Kimi Brown-Ellen; since its modest beginning, BB&A has grown exponentially with the addition of 3 partners, Timothy S. Watson and Michele D. Simon in Chicago and Katrina Battle-Bumpers in Miami, Florida; the partners all have an average of 12 years of auditing and accounting experience, with half of these years spent with 'Big 4' accounting firms in major industries and the other half spent either within the internal audit departments or accounting departments of Fortune 500 companies; and

WHEREAS, The mission of Benford Brown & Associates is to provide audit, accounting, tax, and consulting services that meet the highest standards within the public accounting industry; the firm's partners are committed providing the care and attention necessary to help each client manage and grow their business and its resources and help each of its clients to increase their knowledge of their business and its accounting and finance issues; and

WHEREAS, Benford Brown & Associates is fully accredited in the State of Illinois; its clients include major companies, such as the Boeing Corporation and the State Farm Insurance Company, as well as many not-for-profit and government organizations, such as the City of Chicago, the Illinois Department of Human Services, the Independent Living Solutions Center, and the H.E.A.R.T. Organization; and

WHEREAS, The partners and employees of Benford Brown & Associates serve as models of hard work, integrity, and dedication for the people of the State of Illinois; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate the partners and employees of Benford Brown & Associates on the occasion of the firm's 15th anniversary and wish them continued success and happiness in the future; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Benford Brown & Associates as a symbol of our esteem and respect.
