HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives are pleased to congratulate North Central College President Harold Wilde on his retirement; and

WHEREAS, North Central College President Harold (Hal) Wilde will retire at the end of the 2012 calendar year, after nearly 22 years at the helm of the 3,000-student private comprehensive liberal arts college in Naperville; and

WHEREAS, He is only the ninth president in the history of the 150-year-old institution; and

WHEREAS, During his time as president, the institution has seen a nearly 10-fold increase in its endowment, a doubling of its full-time student population, completion of 15 major building projects, continuously balanced budgets, and a successful $50-million capital campaign; and

WHEREAS, His retirement will coincide with the conclusion of the College's 18-month sesquicentennial celebration; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate President Harold Wilde on his retirement, thank him for his service, and wish him all the best in his future endeavors; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to President Harold Wilde as a symbol of our respect and esteem.
