AN ACT concerning local government.

Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, represented in the General Assembly:

Section 5. The Illinois Municipal Code is amended by adding Section 11-80-24 as follows:

(65 ILCS 5/11-80-24 new)

Sec. 11-80-24. Grass cutting; public right-of-way. The corporate authorities of each municipality may require the owner or occupant of any premises to cut or trim the grass and weeds on the public lawn on the public right-of-way which abuts the premises.

Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon becoming law.
