SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Juan Delgado Ortiz, who passed away on November 24, 2012; and

WHEREAS, Juan Delgado Ortiz was born on May 16, 1921, in Yabucoa, Puerto Rico; and

WHEREAS, Juan Delgado Ortiz served his country with pride and distinction as a member of the United States Armed Forces during World War II; and

WHEREAS, Juan Delgado Ortiz worked for Inland Steel for over 20 years; and

WHEREAS, Juan Delgado Ortiz is survived by his wife of 66 years, Angelina Delgado; his brother, Benito Delgado Ortiz; his sister, Carmen Delgado Ortiz; his children, Juan Delgado, Jr. (Elizabeth), Angela Zechinato (Max), Anita Bogus (Dennis), Jaime Delgado (Lucy), Illinois State Senator William Delgado (Iris), Rick Delgado (Cynthia), and Mili Torres (Ernie); his 14 grandchildren; his 7 great-grandchildren; and his many nieces and nephews; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with his family and friends, the passing of Juan Delgado Ortiz; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Juan Delgado Ortiz as an expression of our sympathy.
