SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are deeply
3saddened to learn of the death of Robert Francis James of
4Aurora, who passed away on December 14, 2012; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Robert James was born on August 13, 1914, to
6Arthur R. and Ellen A. (Logan) James; he graduated from St.
7Mary's Grade School in 1929; and
 
8    WHEREAS, Robert James moved to San Diego, California, in
91937 and worked for Consolidated Aircraft during World War II;
10he returned to Aurora and was a realtor until his retirement;
11and
 
12    WHEREAS, Robert James was a former member and twice past
13president of the Aurora Luncheon Optimist Club; he was a
14lieutenant governor and governor for the Optimists of Illinois
15during 1973-1974 and he received a life membership in Optimist
16International on his birthday in 1979; he was a member and past
17Exalted Ruler of B.P.O.E. Chapter #705 and he was a member of
18the Aurora Redevelopment Commission and the Aurora Civic Center
19Authority; and
 
20    WHEREAS, Robert James was preceded in death by his parents,
21Arthur and Ellen James and his wife, Dorene James; and

1    WHEREAS, Robert James is survived by his son, William F.
2(Leah) James; his stepdaughter, Gail Allen; his grandchildren,
3Carrie (Trent) Lostutter and David (Elizabeth) James; and his
4great-grandchildren, Julia Lostutter, Natalie Lostutter, and
5Landon James; therefore, be it
 
6    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL
7ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
8Robert James, and we extend our sincere condolences to his
9family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
10further
 
11    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
12presented to the family of Robert James as an expression of our
13deepest sympathy.
