SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Mark Johnson of La Grange Park; and

WHEREAS, Mark Johnson grew up in Willowbrook and graduated from Hinsdale South High School; and

WHEREAS, Mark Johnson began his career as a firefighter with the Hinsdale Fire Department in 1986; he quickly moved up the ranks, becoming lieutenant in 2001 and captain in 2003; in May of 2008, he was promoted to the position of deputy chief, where he remained until his passing; he also served as the department's training officer and was part of the MABAS Division 10 HAZMAT Team; and

WHEREAS, Prior to his service with the Hinsdale Fire Department, Mark Johnson was employed at a local department store, Adventist Hinsdale Hospital, and the La Grange Park Fire Department; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with his family and friends, the passing of Mark Johnson; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Mark Johnson as an expression of our sympathy.
