SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of George J. Weakley of Grayslake, formerly
4of Lindenhurst and North Chicago, who passed away on April 11,
52011; and
 
6    WHEREAS, George Weakley was born on November 24, 1925 in
7South Bend, Indiana; his parents were Michael and Eva Weakley;
8and
 
9    WHEREAS, George Weakley served his country with bravery and
10distinction as a member of the United States Army in France
11during World War II; and
 
12    WHEREAS, George Weakley married his first wife, Cecile
13Serwa, in 1947; she passed away in January of 1990; together,
14they owned and operated Weakley's Quality Printing in North
15Chicago for 60 years; and
 
16    WHEREAS, George Weakley was a member of the Holy Rosary
17Holy Name Society, the Knights of Columbus, the VFW, the
18American Legion, and Waukegan Moose Lodge #706; and
 
19    WHEREAS, George Weakley was an avid stamp collector and
20golfer who loved taking trips to Florida; and

1    WHEREAS, George Weakley was preceded in death by his
2parents and his first wife, Cecile; and
 
3    WHEREAS, George Weakley is survived by his second wife,
4Beverly (Krumske); his daughters, Marilyn (Tom) Gregorin and
5Marcia (John) Jerina; his son, Michael (Cindy) Weakley; his
6grandchildren, Eric and Aimee Gregorin, Kelly and Kevin
7Weakley, and Kendall and Cameron Jerina; and his brothers,
8Donald (Julie) Weakley and Leo Brandon; therefore, be it
 
9    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL
10ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with
11his family and friends, the passing of George J. Weakley; and
12be it further
 
13    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
14presented to the family of George Weakley as an expression of
15our sympathy.
