SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Charles Knight of Lake Forest, who passed away on February 4, 2012; and

WHEREAS, Charles Knight was born on April 20, 1953; and

WHEREAS, Charles Knight was employed as an attorney for many years; and

WHEREAS, Charles Knight was a long-time activist and an original founder of the Tenth Congressional District Democrats in 2003; during his tenure, he wrote the original bylaws of the Tenth Dems and was very involved in the organization's Executive Committee; he was also instrumental in the planning and opening of the Tenth Dems Community Connection office in Waukegan; and

WHEREAS, Charles Knight was an active member of the Sierra Club; he was also a supporter of CASA Lake County and the Montessori School of Lake Forest; and

WHEREAS, Charles Knight was the husband of Claudia Lovelette; the father of Jamie Knight and Andrew Knight; the son of Eleanor and the late John Knight; and the brother of John Knight and the late Frances Cornelius; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with his family and friends, the passing of Charles Knight; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Charles Knight as an expression of our sympathy.
