SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Richard A. "Dick" Jones; and

WHEREAS, Richard Jones was born on July 23, 1932; he was a graduate of Aurora East High School and Millikin University; and

WHEREAS, Richard Jones served his country as a member of the United States Navy as a jet pilot aboard the USS Lexington; and

WHEREAS, Richard Jones had a long and distinguished career in the aggregate and concrete business in the Chicago area; he ultimately served as vice president of sales for Material Services Corporation; and

WHEREAS, Richard Jones was active as a business leader, having served several terms as the president of the Illinois Roadbuilders Association; he also served in numerous positions with his church, the school board, and the PTA over the years; and

WHEREAS, Richard Jones was preceded in death by his parents, Gretchen and Kermit; his sister, Marilyn Hix; and his son, Jeffry; and

WHEREAS, Richard Jones is survived by his wife of 56 years, Johanette; his son, Daniel (Karil); his daughters, Lynette (Bill) Alderisio and KC (Dan) Hyer; his grandchildren, Katie, Will, and Maggie Alderisio; and his nieces, Peggy Lamphere, Debi Hix, Linda Kolb, and Janet Hix; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with his family and friends, the passing of Richard A. "Dick" Jones; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Richard Jones as an expression of our sympathy.
