SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate learned with regret of the death of Michael P. Schostok of Libertyville, who passed away on July 15, 2012; and

WHEREAS, He was married to Illinois Appellate Justice Mary Seminara Schostok for 25 years; and

WHEREAS, He was an attorney for the firm of Salvi, Schostok, and Pritchard, based in Chicago and Waukegan, where he practiced personal injury law, specializing in medical malpractice and catastrophic injury matters; he was awarded the prestigious Leonard M. Ring Lifetime Achievement Award from the Illinois Trial Lawyers Association in 2011; and

WHEREAS, He earned his juris doctor degree at Capital University Law School in 1986, a bachelor of science degree from Miami University in 1983, and attended Loyola Academy; and

WHEREAS, He grew up in Riverwoods and was an avid outdoorsman and naturalist all his life; and

WHEREAS, He was preceded in death by his father, Steven Schostok; and

WHEREAS, Michael P. Schostok is survived by his wife, Mary (nee Seminara); his children, Marisa, Gina, and Michael; his mother, Kathleen Kapsa; his siblings, Stephen (Sheila) Schostok, Bradley Schostok, and Katherine (Jonathan) Cunha; his stepmother, Dr. Patricia Schostok Reese; and his nieces and nephews; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Michael P. Schostok and we extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to his family as a token of our deepest sympathy.
