SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are deeply saddened to learn of the death of Alice M. Bunce of Aurora, who passed away on October 27, 2012; and

WHEREAS, Alice Bunce was born on January 31, 1921, in Brooklyn, New York to Enea and Maria Mazzotti; she married Merritt Morse in October of 1942, who was killed in action while serving his country in France during World War II; she married Roger Bunce in 1947, and spent time living in North Carolina, Virginia, New Mexico, and New York while he was in the military; and

WHEREAS, Alice Bunce always maintained an active family life; she was a gifted artist and worked as a fashion illustrator for Lane Bryant in New York; she was a selfless, devoted mother and wife to her family; and

WHEREAS, Alice Bunce was preceded in death by her parents, Enea and Maria Mazzotti; her first husband, Merritt Morse; her second husband, Roger Bunce; her son, Gary Bunce; and her two half-brothers, Leo and Charles Mazzotti; and

WHEREAS, Alice Bunce is survived by her sons, Art Bunce and Nathan "Billy" Combs; her daughter, Joanne (Richard) Jaycox; her grandchildren, Michael Jaycox, Katherine Bunce, Colleen Jaycox, Alex Bunce; her sister, Anita (Robert) Cappossella; her daughter-in-law, Charlotte Bunce; and her nieces, nephews, and many cousins; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Alice Bunce, and we extend our sincere condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Alice Bunce as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
