SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Dixie Jane Blazier of Harvard, who passed
4away on December 1, 2017; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Dixie Blazier was born in Davenport, Iowa to
6Gerald and Darlene (Crum) Berryhill on March 25, 1951; she
7married James (Jim) Blazier in Harvard on November 7, 1970; and
 
8    WHEREAS, Dixie Blazier enjoyed a successful career working
9in the business office at Centegra Health System and Harvard
10Hospital; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Dixie Blazier was active in her church, serving on
12several different committees throughout the years, most
13recently as a Deacon; she was also active in her community and
14participated in breast cancer research fundraising; she
15enjoyed crocheting baby blankets, baby outfits, and afghans;
16she was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother;
17she participated in all of her children's activities, including
18as Girl Scout leader, Sunday School teacher, and attending
19sporting events; and
 
20    WHEREAS, Dixie Blazier was preceded in death by her parents
21and her stepmother, Elaine Berryhill; and

1    WHEREAS, Dixie Blazier is survived by her children, Carla
2Sipe, Jessica (Eric) Sugalski, and Hannah (Mike) Jesski; her
3brother, John (Kathy) Berryhill; her sisters, Leila (Jim)
4Novak, Heidi (Jay) Tillotson, and Glenda (Bob) Mundis; her
5grandchildren, Rachael and Jacob Hayes, James, Jonathon, and
6Kaitlynn Jesski, and Annica, Julia, and Nathan Sugalski; her
7great-granddaughter, Amelia Hayes; and many nieces, nephews,
8and great-nieces and nephews; therefore, be it
 
9    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL
10ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
11Dixie Jane Blazier, and extend our sincere condolences to her
12family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it
13further
 
14    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
15presented to the family of Dixie Blazier as an expression of
16our deepest sympathy.
