SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Rosalie N. "Rosie" Jones of Springfield,
4who passed away on March 2, 2017; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Rosalie Jones was born in Fullerton, California to
6Clarence William and Mary Florence (Cleary) Jones on January
718, 1949; she graduated from Cathedral Grade School, attended
8Sacred Heart Academy, and graduated from Springfield High
9School; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Rosalie Jones spent nearly 40 years working in the
11hospitality industry, first with Days Inn, and most recently,
12at the State House Inn in the shadow of the Illinois State
13Capitol Building; and
 
14    WHEREAS, Rosalie Jones was a member of the Cathedral of the
15Immaculate Conception; she was, alongside her mother, an active
16volunteer for the parish and diocesan Councils of Catholic
17Women, Springfield Right to Life, the Illinois Federation for
18Right to Life, and the National Right to Life Committee; and
 
19    WHEREAS, Rosalie Jones was preceded in death by her
20parents; her sister, Marianna; and her brother, Raymond Bernard
21"Bernie" Jones; and

1    WHEREAS, Rosalie Jones is survived by her sons, Jim
2(Lindsey) Ducey, and Derrick Jones; her brothers, Donald G.
3(Nieves) and Robert W. (Lynda) Jones; her sister-in-law, Kathy
4Jones; eight nieces and nephews, their spouses and partners;
5nine great-nieces and nephews; six aunts and uncles; dozens of
6Cleary and Jones cousins; and many dear friends; therefore, be
7it
 
8    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL
9ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
10Rosalie N. "Rosie" Jones, and extend our sincere condolences to
11her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it
12further
 
13    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
14presented to the family of Rosalie Jones as an expression of
15our deepest sympathy.
