SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Jean L. Lucio of Plainfield, who passed
4away on July 16, 2020; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Jean Lucio was born in Newport News, Virginia to
6Carl and Alice (Langston) Parker on May 12, 1954; she resided
7in Joliet most of her life; she earned her degree in Chemical
8Engineering from Virginia Tech; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Jean Lucio worked as a chemical engineer at Stepan
10Chemical until her retirement; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Jean Lucio was known for always helping the less
12fortunate; she was a member of Grace United Methodist Church,
13through which she volunteered on various mission trips and also
14at the local food bank; she also helped those in her community,
15providing rides and checking in to see how people were doing;
16she enjoyed gardening, sewing, and quilting; she will be
17remembered as a wonder woman for balancing life as a single
18mother and raising four children while working a full-time job;
19and
 
20    WHEREAS, Jean Lucio was preceded in death by her parents
21and her brothers, Glenn Parker, Neil Parker, and Ben Parker;

2    WHEREAS, Jean Lucio is survived by her children, Nicolas
3"Tony" (Kelie) Lucio, Robert (Erica) Lucio, Evelyn Lucio, and
4Samuel (Alyssa) Lucio; her seven grandchildren, Julian Lucio,
5Gabriella Lucio, Melina Lucio, Leonidas Lucio, Mariel Lucio,
6Calliope Lucio, and Mario Rios; her siblings, Dale (Pamela)
7Parker and Karen Parker; and several nieces and nephews;
8therefore, be it
 
9    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL
10ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
11Jean L. Lucio and extend our sincere condolences to her family,
12friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it further
 
13    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
14presented to the family of Jean Lucio as an expression of our
15deepest sympathy.
