1     AN ACT concerning local government.

2     Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3 represented in the General Assembly:

4     Section 5. The State Officials and Employees Ethics Act is
5 amended by adding Section 70-20 as follows:

6     (5 ILCS 430/70-20 new)
7     Sec. 70-20. Members appointed by a county. In addition to
8 any other applicable requirement of law, any member of a
9 governmental entity appointed by the president or chairperson
10 of the county board, with or without the advice and consent of
11 the county board, shall abide by the ethics laws applicable to,
12 and the ethics policies of, that county and, if applicable,
13 shall be subject to the jurisdiction of that county's ethics
14 officer or inspector general.

15     Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon
16 becoming law.
