    Amends the University Credit and Retail Sales Act. Makes a technical change in a Section concerning enforcing the Act.

1    AN ACT concerning education.
 
2    Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3represented in the General Assembly:
 
4    Section 5. The University Credit and Retail Sales Act is
5amended by changing Section 2 as follows:
 
6    (110 ILCS 115/2)  (from Ch. 144, par. 253)
7    Sec. 2. Enforcement; violations. Whenever the the Attorney
8General of this State has reason to believe that any person or
9retail store operated by a State institution of higher learning
10or operated on property held or leased for the use of the
11institution is using, has used, or is about to use any method,
12act or practice in violation of this Act and that proceedings
13would be in the public interest, he may bring an action in the
14name of the State against any person or retail store operated
15by a State institution of higher learning or operated on
16property held or leased for the use of the institution to
17restrain and prevent any violation of this Act. In the
18enforcement of this Act, the Attorney General may accept an
19assurance of discontinuance of any act or practice deemed in
20violation of this Act from any person or retail store operated
21by a State institution of higher learning or operated on
22property held or leased for the use of the institution engaging
23in, or that has engaged in, that act or practice. Failure to

1perform the terms of any such assurance constitutes prima facie
2proof of a violation of this Act.
