SYNOPSIS AS INTRODUCED:

430 ILCS 66/45

Amends the Firearm Concealed Carry Act. Adds certified firearms instructors to the civil immunity provision that removes liability for damages in a civil action from alleged wrongful or improper granting, denying, renewing, removing, suspending, or failing to grant, deny, renew, remove, or suspend a concealed carry license, except for willful or wanton misconduct. Effective immediately.

A BILL FOR

AN ACT concerning safety.

Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, represented in the General Assembly:

Section 5. The Firearm Concealed Carry Act is amended by changing Section 45 as follows:

Sec. 45. Civil immunity; Board, employees, and agents. The Board, Department, local law enforcement agency, certified firearms instructors, or the employees and agents of the Board, Department, or local law enforcement agency participating in the licensing process under this Act shall not be held liable for damages in any civil action arising from alleged wrongful or improper granting, denying, renewing, revoking, suspending, or failing to grant, deny, renew, revoke, or suspend a license under this Act, except for willful or wanton misconduct.

Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon becoming law.
