HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives wish to congratulate Percy Edmonds, Sr. of Chicago, on the occasion of his 70th birthday; and

WHEREAS, Percy Edmonds, Sr. was born in Helena, Arkansas on May 18, 1944 to Nellie Jackson and Sprigg Edmonds; he moved to the Chicagoland area in 1960 where he met the love of his life and wife of 51 years, Joyce Ellebb; he was a resident of Broadview from 1969 to 1989 and then settled in Chicago; and

WHEREAS, Percy Edmonds, Sr. is the father of 6, grandfather of 15, and great-grandfather of 4; and

WHEREAS, Percy Edmonds, Sr. worked for General Motors for 26 years from 1969 to 1995, retiring as an Arc Welder; and

WHEREAS, Percy Edmonds, Sr. is a 33 1/3 degree Mason; he taught all of his children baseball and softball; and

WHEREAS, Percy Edmonds, Sr. has always valued hard work, family, and loyalty; he has always kept his word and has imported his wisdom to his kids and grandkids; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate Percy Edmonds, Sr. on his 70th birthday, and wish him many more wonderful years; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Percy Edmonds, Sr. as an expression of our esteem and respect.
