HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives are pleased to honor and congratulate Illinois State Representative Brad Halbrook on the occasion of his retirement and thank him for his service and accomplishments in the General Assembly and his commitment to the people of the 110th District; and

WHEREAS, Representative Halbrook was born on July 22, 1961 in Pana; he married his high school sweetheart, Linda, and is the father of 2 children; and

WHEREAS, Representative Halbrook is a small business owner; he has been involved in agriculture from his youth as a participant in the Future Farmers of America to the present day as the operator of a diversified farm; and

WHEREAS, Representative Halbrook has served on the board of the Illinois Beef Association and is a former Shelby County Republican Party chairman; and

WHEREAS, Representative Halbrook was appointed to the Illinois House of Representatives in April of 2012, representing the people of Clark, Coles, Crawford, Cumberland, Edgar and Lawrence Counties; in November of 2012, he was elected to a full term; and

WHEREAS, Representative Halbrook is a member of the Agriculture and Conservation, Appropriations-Higher Education, Biotechnology, Counties and Townships, and Environment Committees; and

WHEREAS, Representative Halbrook passed legislation which was signed into law bringing greater transparency and accountability to Emergency Telephone System Boards and legislation to create jobs in east-central Illinois through adding a locally-produced product to the bow and arrow definition of the Wildlife Code; and

WHEREAS, Representative Halbrook has been a tireless advocate for the Second Amendment, lower taxes, farmers, economic development, reduced government spending, and transparency in government; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we thank and honor our friend and colleague Illinois State Representative Brad Halbrook for his public service and wish him the best in his future endeavors; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Representative Halbrook as a symbol of our respect and esteem.
