HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives wish to congratulate Illinois State Representative Darlene Senger of Naperville on her distinguished service to the people of the State of Illinois; and

WHEREAS, Representative Senger has been a member of the Illinois House of Representatives since 2009 and has served this body with honor and distinction; and

WHEREAS, Representative Senger grew up in a blue-collar household in Hammond, Indiana, where she was instilled with the values of hard work, honesty, and integrity; and

WHEREAS, Representative Senger worked her way through Purdue University, earning a Bachelor's Degree in Finance before earning her Master of Business Administration in Finance from DePaul University; and

WHEREAS, Representative Senger is the proud mother of 2 children, Eric and Michelle; and

WHEREAS, Prior to joining the General Assembly, Representative Senger enjoyed a successful career in the private sector as a licensed Financial and Investment Advisor; and

WHEREAS, Representative Senger was elected to the Naperville City Council in 2002, serving until December of 2008; while there, she worked to reduce property tax rates, improve the city's infrastructure, and enhance the community's public safety network; and

WHEREAS, Since she was first elected to the Illinois House of Representatives in 2008, Representative Senger has been recognized for her leadership on working to reform the State's public pension system as Republican Spokesperson on the House Personnel & Pensions Committee and as a leader on the Pension Conference Committee; and

WHEREAS, Representative Senger has also served as Republican Spokesperson for the Appropriations-General Services Committee and as a member of the Appropriations-Elementary & Secondary Education, Insurance, Business Growth & Incentives, and Financial Institutions Committees; and

WHEREAS, Representative Senger has worked on a bipartisan basis to find solutions to the State's most complex challenges, including education funding, property tax relief, fiscal reform, and common sense measures to keep law enforcement officials ahead of the technological curve; and

WHEREAS, Representative Senger has been honored by dozens of organizations in recognition of her outstanding service in the General Assembly, including the Illinois Chamber of Commerce and Illinois Farm Bureau, among many others; and

WHEREAS, Representative Senger has made immeasurable contributions to the public good through her extensive civic and volunteer involvement, including service on the Board of Directors for the DuPage Children's Museum, striving to transform the learning landscape for young children and the important adults in their lives; the Board of Directors for Giant Steps, a Lisle-based organization focused on serving children and families affected by autism spectrum disorders; and as a proud member of the Rotary Club of Naperville, an organization that promotes service, high ethical standards, and peace; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we wish Representative Darlene Senger all the best in her future endeavors and congratulate her on a distinguished career as a member of the General Assembly; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Representative Senger as an expression of our esteem and respect for our colleague and friend.
