HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3Representatives wish to congratulate Illinois State
4Representative Darlene Senger of Naperville on her
5distinguished service to the people of the State of Illinois;
6and
 
7    WHEREAS, Representative Senger has been a member of the
8Illinois House of Representatives since 2009 and has served
9this body with honor and distinction; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Representative Senger grew up in a blue-collar
11household in Hammond, Indiana, where she was instilled with the
12values of hard work, honesty, and integrity; and
 
13    WHEREAS, Representative Senger worked her way through
14Purdue University, earning a Bachelor's Degree in Finance
15before earning her Master of Business Administration in Finance
16from DePaul University; and
 
17    WHEREAS, Representative Senger is the proud mother of 2
18children, Eric and Michelle; and
 
19    WHEREAS, Prior to joining the General Assembly,
20Representative Senger enjoyed a successful career in the

1private sector as a licensed Financial and Investment Advisor;
2and
 
3    WHEREAS, Representative Senger was elected to the
4Naperville City Council in 2002, serving until December of
52008; while there, she worked to reduce property tax rates,
6improve the city's infrastructure, and enhance the community's
7public safety network; and
 
8    WHEREAS, Since she was first elected to the Illinois House
9of Representatives in 2008, Representative Senger has been
10recognized for her leadership on working to reform the State's
11public pension system as Republican Spokesperson on the House
12Personnel & Pensions Committee and as a leader on the Pension
13Conference Committee; and
 
14    WHEREAS, Representative Senger has also served as
15Republican Spokesperson for the Appropriations-General
16Services Committee and as a member of the
17Appropriations-Elementary & Secondary Education, Insurance,
18Business Growth & Incentives, and Financial Institutions
19Committees; and
 
20    WHEREAS, Representative Senger has worked on a bipartisan
21basis to find solutions to the State's most complex challenges,
22including education funding, property tax relief, fiscal

1reform, and common sense measures to keep law enforcement
2officials ahead of the technological curve; and
 
3    WHEREAS, Representative Senger has been honored by dozens
4of organizations in recognition of her outstanding service in
5the General Assembly, including the Illinois Chamber of
6Commerce and Illinois Farm Bureau, among many others; and
 
7    WHEREAS, Representative Senger has made immeasurable
8contributions to the public good through her extensive civic
9and volunteer involvement, including service on the Board of
10Directors for the DuPage Children's Museum, striving to
11transform the learning landscape for young children and the
12important adults in their lives; the Board of Directors for
13Giant Steps, a Lisle-based organization focused on serving
14children and families affected by autism spectrum disorders;
15and as a proud member of the Rotary Club of Naperville, an
16organization that promotes service, high ethical standards,
17and peace; therefore, be it
 
18    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
19NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
20we wish Representative Darlene Senger all the best in her
21future endeavors and congratulate her on a distinguished career
22as a member of the General Assembly; and be it further
