HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives are pleased to congratulate Laurie Petersen on winning the Heart of the School award presented by the Archdiocese of Chicago Catholic Schools; and

WHEREAS, Laurie Petersen is a nurse at Saint John of the Cross School; and

WHEREAS, Each year the Archdiocese of Chicago Catholic Schools names 14 faculty and staff members in recognition of outstanding, unique, and innovative accomplishments in 7 categories; and

WHEREAS, Laurie Petersen rose to the top in the "Behind the Scenes" category as she is a non-administrative staff person who contributes to the unique program successes; and

WHEREAS, Laurie Petersen not only cares for children who become ill during the day, but she performs mandated screening for vision and hearing, communicates with parents and staff on students' medical conditions, and she is up-to-date on all current trends of the profession; and

WHEREAS, Laurie Petersen was selected out of 589 nominees from the 6,000 plus educators across the Archdiocese; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate Laurie Petersen on winning the Heart of the School award, thank her for her service to those she cares for, and wish her well in all her future endeavours; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Laurie Petersen as an expression of our esteem and respect.
