HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, Police officers throughout the State of Illinois, and particularly in Chicago, have one of the most dangerous jobs in the world and should be recognized for their heroism; and

WHEREAS, Police officers in Illinois work diligently to ensure the safety of the general public; and

WHEREAS, Every police officer is affected by the daily media reports that highlight the bloodshed and gun violence that have cost too many families the loss of a loved one; and

WHEREAS, Police officers work everyday to curb violence and keep Illinois families and children out of harm's way; and

WHEREAS, It is our duty as elected officials to honor and respect the brave law enforcement officers of the City of Chicago and the rest of the State of Illinois; and

WHEREAS, It is our duty as elected officials to stand with these brave men and women who work tirelessly for our safety during times of crisis and challenge; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we never forget the successes of our police forces in their pursuit against gang and gun violence; and be it further

RESOLVED, That we honor the brave and hard-working men and women who serve as police officers in the State of Illinois.
