HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Raymond
4H. Neisewander, Jr.; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Raymond Neisewander, Jr. was born on May 30, 1932
6in Springfield; he was the oldest son of Ray, Sr. and Audrienne
7(nee Murphy) Neisewander; he married Jean Baxter on November
830, 1957, and they divorced in 1987; he met Kim Danreiter in
91997, and they married on June 29, 2002; and
 
10    WHEREAS, After attending elementary school in Springfield,
11Raymond Neisewander, Jr. attended the Marmion Military Academy
12in Aurora, where he graduated in 1951; after attending
13Springfield Junior College and the University of Illinois, he
14served in the United States Army in the Panama Canal Zone from
151954 to 1956; and
 
16    WHEREAS, In 1956, Raymond Neisewander, Jr. started a Raynor
17garage door dealership in Bettendorf, Iowa; he then moved to
18Raynor's headquarters in Dixon in 1961; in 1968, he was
19promoted to Executive Vice President and a member of the
20management team, where he launched and managed the
21organization's trucking division, Raynor Express, Inc.; in
221979, he became the President, CEO, and Chairman of the Board

1for Raynor, Kwik-Wall of Springfield, and the Raynor Hotel
2Corporation; and
 
3    WHEREAS, Raymond Neisewander, Jr. was an active member of
4the Dixon community; he served on the governing boards of the
5Dixon Airport, Amcore (Dixon National) Bank, Dixon United Way,
6Dixon Family YMCA, and Wahl Clipper Corporation; he was also
7known for his generosity to a long list of community events and
8organizations, such as the Dixon Public Library, Dixon public
9and parochial schools, the Dixon Theatre Renovation, the
10Northern Illinois Cancer Treatment Center, the Dixon Petunia
11Festival, the Dixon Industrial Development Association, the
12Dixon Public School District Foundation, the Dixon Area Chamber
13of Commerce and Industry, and many other local charities; and
 
14    WHEREAS, Raymond Neisewander, Jr. began serving on the
15board of the National Association of Garage Door Manufacturers
16in 1972; he served as the board's president from 1973 to 1974
17and served as treasurer from 1986 to 1996; in 2006, the
18International Door Association named Raymond Neisewander, Jr.
19and Raymond Neisewander III as the recipient of the industry's
20first Heritage Award for outstanding contributions to the
21garage door industry; that same year, Raymond Neisewander, Jr.
22and Raynor were recognized as the Illinois' Family Business of
23the Year by the Family Business Center of Loyola University of
24Chicago; and

1    WHEREAS, In 1993, Raymond Neisewander, Jr. was honored by
2the Illinois State Board of Education with the prestigious
3Award of Excellence for his longstanding support of schools; in
41996, the Dixon Area Chamber of Commerce presented him with its
5annual Lifetime Achievement Award; and
 
6    WHEREAS, Raymond Neisewander, Jr. was preceded in death by
7his parents; his sister, Margaret Bradley his
8great-granddaughter, Malia Hammond; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Raymond Neisewander, Jr. is survived by his wife,
10Kim Neisewander; his sons, Ray (Cindy) Neisewander III, Todd
11Neisewander, and Dan (Tara) Yanes; his daughters, Tammy (Steve)
12Reuter, Jennifer Danreiter, Debra Neisewander, Pamela (Tony)
13Russo, Karla (Ken) Shioi, Darcy (Brian) Boatman, and Lori
14(Jason) Burchell; his 26 grandchildren; his 2
15great-grandchildren; his siblings, Catherine (Ed) Vespa,
16Patricia (Bill) Harford, Eleanora (George) Lyons, and Jack
17(Dee) Neisewander, Sr.; therefore, be it
 
18    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
19NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
20we, along with his family and friends, mourn the passing of
21Raymond H. Neisewander, Jr.; and be it further

1    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
2presented to the family of Raymond Neisewander, Jr. as a symbol
3of our sympathy.
