HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives are pleased to recognize the Lade brothers of Essex on their history of service to the United States military; and

WHEREAS, The term "military family" has never been more appropriate than when applied to the 9 Lade brothers, all of whom served in the military from World War II through the Korean Conflict; and

WHEREAS, The Lade brothers are Glendon Sylvester Lade, January 22, 1917-November 5, 2008, enlisted January 9, 1945, served in the Navy; Delmar Anthony Lade, born September 2, 1919, enlisted May 5, 1942, served in the United States Army Air Corps; Cecil Merril Lade, October 8, 1921-November 1, 1991, enlisted May 10, 1944-January 6, 1946, served in the Marine Corps; Archie Henry Lade, April 1, 1923-July 31, 2001, enlisted March 6, 1943-March 11, 1946, served in the U.S. Army during World War II and the Korean War; Stanley Robert Lade, 1925-April 30, 1945, killed in action, Purple Heart recipient, served in the U.S. Army during World War II; William Howard Lade, July 21, 1926-November 1, 2009, served in the U.S. Army during World War II and the Korean War; Herbert Edward Lade, June 8, 1929-March 25, 1984, enlisted November 24, 1948-August 25, 1952, served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War; Lloyd Leo Lade, September 28, 1930-February 18, 2012, served in the U.S. Army; Joseph Duane Lade, born June 8, 1938, served in the U.S. Army; and

WHEREAS, The Essex Historical Museum contains a wall dedicated to all of the town's residents who served in the military; although the wall includes numerous people, 9 pictures along one row depict the Lade brothers in honor of their family's service to the United States; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we recognize the Lade brothers, honor their service to their country's military, and thank them for their devotion to the United States; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to The Essex Historical Museum as an expression of our esteem and respect.
