HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives are pleased to congratulate Abraham Ourth of Boy Scout Troop 24 in Riverside on achieving the rank of Eagle Scout on October 15, 2013; and

WHEREAS, Abraham Ourth started scouting as a Tiger Cub in first grade, advancing through the Cub Scout ranks of Wolf, Bear, and Webelos, and earning the Arrow of Light, the highest award in Cub Scouts; and

WHEREAS, Abraham Ourth advanced through the Boy Scout ranks of Tenderfoot, Second Class, First Class, Star, and Life, culminating in the rank of Eagle Scout, of which, over the history of scouting, only 2% of scouts have attained; and

WHEREAS, Abraham Ourth participated in several of scouting's highest adventures at Philmont Scout Ranch in Cimarron, New Mexico and Florida Sea Base in Islamorada, Florida; and

WHEREAS, Abraham Ourth completed his Eagle project by building bat houses for mosquito control at Camp Nauvoo; and

WHEREAS, Abraham Ourth has been active in serving in his community, church, and school; and

WHEREAS, Abraham Ourth will celebrate his achievement with a Court of Honor on March 16, 2014 at Riverside Presbyterian Church, the chartering organization for Troop 24, since 1939; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate Abraham Ourth on achieving the rank of Eagle Scout and wish him many more years of success; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Abraham Ourth as an expression of our respect and esteem.
