HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Julissa Alvarez, who passed away on March 28, 2014; and

WHEREAS, Julissa Alvarez was born in Berwyn on February 24, 2000 to Rodolfo Alvarez and Ana Hernandez; and

WHEREAS, Julissa Alvarez enjoyed school from the time she was first enrolled and was on the honor role for most of her school years; she dreamed of one day becoming a marine biologist and working with sea animals at zoos and theme parks; and

WHEREAS, Julissa Alvarez had many great experiences from going to places such as Disney World with her parents to taking part in a fashion show on national TV; she loved soccer and often could be found kicking the ball around the house; and

WHEREAS, Julissa Alvarez found inspiration and hope in the experiences of President Obama being the first African American President; and

WHEREAS, Julissa Alvarez has 2 sisters, Liliana and Abigail, and on her father's side, a step-sister, Alyna, and a step-brother, Joshua; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Julissa Alvarez, and extend our sincere condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Julissa Alvarez as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
