SYNOPSIS AS INTRODUCED:

5 ILCS 375/2.10 new

Amends the State Employees Group Insurance Act of 1971. Provides that members of the General Assembly and Executive Officers shall receive a separate program of health benefits with benefits similar to those offered under the Silver Plan (Blue PPO Silver 004) of the Illinois Health Exchange. Effective immediately.

Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, represented in the General Assembly:

Section 5. The State Employees Group Insurance Act of 1971 is amended by adding Section 2.10 as follows:

Sec. 2.10. Health benefits for members of the General Assembly and Executive Officers. Notwithstanding any other provision of this Act to the contrary, members of the General Assembly and Executive Officers shall receive a separate program of health benefits with benefits similar to those offered under the Silver Plan (Blue PPO Silver 004) of the Illinois Health Exchange.

Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon becoming law.
