SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Frances L. Behrens of Hebron, who passed away on March 24, 2014; and

WHEREAS, Frances Behrens was born on September 3, 1923 in Alden; her parents were Elmer and Olive (nee Fink) Bottlemy; she married Melvin Behrens on February 26, 1943 in Hebron; and

WHEREAS, Frances Behrens graduated salutatorian from Alden High School; and

WHEREAS, Frances Behrens and her husband farmed in the Alden-Hebron area for several years; and

WHEREAS, Frances Behrens enjoyed watching sports, particularly the Chicago Cubs, Bears, and Bulls; she also enjoyed dancing, playing cards, bingo, and spending time with her family and friends; and

WHEREAS, Frances Behrens was a member of Alden United Methodist Church and the Merry-Go-Round Club; and

WHEREAS, Frances Behrens was preceded in death by her daughter, Barbara; her husband, Melvin; her parents; and her brothers, Harold, Elmer, and Warren Bottlemy; and

WHEREAS, Frances Behrens is survived by her sons, James (Marsha) Behrens, Jerry (Muriel) Behrens, and Dennis Behrens; her grandchildren, Kathy (Jeff) Strogen, Tige Oleksy, Sarah (Jay) Lemon, Joe Behrens, Carrie (Carl) Gose, and Buddy (Amanda) Kile; her great-grandchildren, Zach and Cadence; her sisters, Lois Norgard and Grace Wissell; and her sisters-in-law, Jane Bottlemy, Betty Bottlemy, Joanne Bottlemy, and Evelyn Pratt; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with her family and friends, mourn the passing of Frances L. Behrens; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Frances Behrens as an expression of our sympathy.
