SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of William J. Johnson of Nokomis, who passed
4away on April 3, 2014; and
 
5    WHEREAS, William Johnson was born on July 2, 1929 in
6Nokomis; his parents were Ben C. and Anna (nee Gerhart)
7Johnson; he married the former Lorraine Fink on May 9, 1953 in
8Bellwood; and
 
9    WHEREAS, William Johnson served his country as a member of
10the United States Army; and
 
11    WHEREAS, William Johnson was a member of Trinity Lutheran
12Church in Nokomis, the American Legion Post 94 in Nokomis, and
13the Veterans of Foreign Wars in Taylorville; and
 
14    WHEREAS, William Johnson was preceded in death by his
15parents; 3 brothers, Lawrence, Warren, and Wes Johnson; and 3
16sisters, Margaret Bernhard, Darlene Hinton, and Anna Marie
17McNeil; and
 
18    WHEREAS, William Johnson is survived by his wife, Lorraine;
192 sons, Darold (Lou) Johnson and William (companion, Connie
20Agers) Johnson; 4 grandchildren, Misti Gibbs and Kristi, Haley,

1and Ben Johnson; 5 great-grandchildren, Odessa Gibbs and
2MaKenna, Layne, McKenzie, and Owen Lee Johnson; a sister,
3Lorene (Joe) Lovell; and a brother, Chris (Alice) Johnson;
4therefore, be it
 
5    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL
6ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his
7family and friends, mourn the passing of William J. Johnson;
8and be it further
 
9    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
10presented to the family of William Johnson as an expression of
11our sympathy.
