SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Catherine M. Freund of McHenry, who passed away on March 31, 2014; and

WHEREAS, Catherine Freund was born on January 2, 1928 in Chicago to Joseph and Catherine (nee Martini) Wagner; and

WHEREAS, Catherine Freund was an avid fan of the Chicago Cubs, White Sox, Bulls, and Blackhawks and enjoyed going bowling; and

WHEREAS, Catherine Freund was preceded in death by her daughter, Kim "Cookie" Freund; her brothers, John and Alexander; and by her parents; and

WHEREAS, Catherine Freund is survived by her husband of 64 years, Walter J. Freund; her children, Mark (Cynthia) Freund and Jayne (John) Bennett; 4 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; and her sister, Dorothy (Robert) Herrmann; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Catherine M. Freund, and extend our sincere condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Catherine Freund as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
