SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Burtis "Gene" Moye of Marengo, who passed away on April 8, 2014; and

WHEREAS, Burtis Moye was born in Elgin on October 24, 1946 to Bertis and Lorraine (nee Inman) Moye; he married Frances Thorson in Marengo on January 22, 1966; and

WHEREAS, Burtis Moye worked as a foreman at the Marengo Foundry for many years; and

WHEREAS, Burtis Moye took great pride in keeping his lawn and cars clean; he also enjoyed woodworking, telling jokes, and spending time with his family; and

WHEREAS, Burtis Moye was preceded in death by his parents, and by his sister-in-law, Pat Moye; and

WHEREAS, Burtis Moye is survived by his beloved wife, Fran; his loving daughter, Kim (Jim) Raabe; his cherished granddaughter, Stephanie Raabe; his dear siblings, Larry Moye, Janie (Tom) Towner, Jim (Sue) Moye, and Terry Moye; his father-in-law, Morry (Linda) Thorson; his mother-in-law, Mary Pufahl; his brother-in-law, Bill (Val) Thorson; and many nieces and nephews; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Burtis "Gene" Moye, and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Burtis Moye as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
