SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of McKenzie Lauren Phlipot of Chicago, who passed away on May 8, 2014; and

WHEREAS, McKenzie Phlipot, who was 12 years old at the time of her passing, played the guitar and enjoyed music; and

WHEREAS, McKenzie Phlipot's family remembers her love of nature and the outdoors and the joy she experienced while playing and hanging out with her cousins at the lake; and

WHEREAS, McKenzie Phlipot is survived by her mother, Beth Martin; her father, Travis Phlipot; her grandmother, Phyllis Martin, and the many aunts, uncles, and cousins who also loved her; and

WHEREAS, McKenzie Phlipot was preceded in death by her grandfather, Edward "Pepper" Martin; and

WHEREAS, The death of a child is always particularly poignant; the members of this chamber extend their heartfelt condolences to all who loved and nurtured and encouraged McKenzie Phlipot and keenly feel her absence now; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with her family and friends, mourn the passing of McKenzie Lauren Phlipot; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of McKenzie Phlipot as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
