SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Elisabeth "Lisa" D. Kelly of Woodstock, who passed away on June 7, 2014; and

WHEREAS, Elisabeth Kelly was born on February 22, 1945 in Cleveland, Ohio; her parents were Arthur L. and Lina A. (nee Greene) Dougan; and

WHEREAS, Elisabeth Kelly grew up in the Cleveland area and graduated from Laurel School; she went on to attend Northwestern University and graduated with a degree in philosophy; and

WHEREAS, Elisabeth Kelly was an active member at St. Ann's Episcopal Church in Woodstock and served on many boards, including the Vestry as a Junior and Senior Warden; she was also a member of the Woodstock Rotary and served as President of the Woodstock Chamber of Commerce; and

WHEREAS, Elisabeth Kelly was employed as a journalist for both the Northwest Herald and Woodstock Independent; she also worked as a substitute teacher for District 200; and

WHEREAS, Elisabeth Kelly was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Tom Dougan; and

WHEREAS, Elisabeth Kelly is survived by 2 sons, Spencer (Yukari) Kelly and Brian (Christa) Kelly, and a sister, Pat Dougan (Hugh) Neilson; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with her family and friends, mourn the passing of Elisabeth "Lisa" D. Kelly; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Elisabeth Kelly as an expression of our sympathy.
