SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of William H. Potts, Sr. of Bartlett, who
4passed away on May 30, 2014; and
 
5    WHEREAS, William Potts, Sr. was born on March 14, 1927; he
6was a United States Army veteran of the Korean War with the
7187th Airborne, and served in the coast guard for 2 years after
8being honorably discharged; and
 
9    WHEREAS, William Potts, Sr. was superintendent for the
10Rockford Paper Mill until retirement; he also worked for the
11City of Elgin; and
 
12    WHEREAS, William Potts, Sr. was a life member of the
13Veterans of Foreign Wars and a member of the American Legion;
14and
 
15    WHEREAS, William Potts, Sr. was the beloved husband of the
16late Yvonne (nee Johnson); the loving father of William H.
17Potts, Jr. and Susan (Brian) Hurst; the proud grandfather of
18William H. Potts, III (Donna), Waylon J. (Katy) Potts, Lucas M.
19(Stefanie) Potts, Justin Hurst, Brianna Hurst, and Zachary
20Hurst; and the cherished great-grandfather of William H. Potts,
21IV, Nicholas Potts, Faith Potts, Carl Potts, and Isaac Potts;

2    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL
3ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
4William H. Potts, Sr., and extend our sincere condolences to
5his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
6further
 
7    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
8presented to the family of William Potts, Sr. as an expression
9of our deepest sympathy.
