SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Kimberly Joy Nichols of Crystal Lake, who
4passed away on July 19, 2014; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Kimberly Nichols was born on June 28, 1975 in Park
6Ridge; her parents were Jack and Mary Nichols; and
 
7    WHEREAS, Kimberly Nichols enjoyed enriching the lives of
8young children and the elderly, volunteering, board games with
9loved ones, shopping, and movies; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Kimberly Nichols was honored to be selected as the
11ribbon cutter at the grand opening of the Ronald McDonald House
12in Tucson, Arizona; she was also the recipient of the J.C.
13Penney Golden Rule award for her volunteerism; and
 
14    WHEREAS, Kimberly Nichols was preceded in death by her
15paternal grandparents, Harley and Geraldine Nichols; her
16maternal grandfather, Norval Thorud; and her godfather and
17uncle, Terry Thorud; and
 
18    WHEREAS, Kimberly Nichols is survived by her parents; 3
19siblings, Barbara Treacy, Debra (Mike) Karakourtis, and Thomas
20H. (Jamie) Nichols; her maternal grandmother, Ardelle Thorud; 5

1nieces and nephews, Joe, Emily, Mike, Ellie, and Cameron; her
2goddaughter and niece, Claire; her beloved puppy, Henry; and
3her many aunts, uncles, and cousins; therefore, be it
 
4    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL
5ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with her
6family and friends, mourn the passing of Kimberly Joy Nichols;
7and be it further
 
8    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
9presented to the family of Kimberly Nichols as an expression of
10our sympathy.
