SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of John Thomas Beam of Johnsburg, who passed
4away on October 3, 2014; and
 
5    WHEREAS, John Beam was born in Canton on November 23, 1941
6to Howard and Vera (nee Schoneman) Beam; he married Suzanne
7Stiglish in Bryant on October 24, 1964; he served in the United
8States Navy and attended the University of Illinois, graduating
9with a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering; and
 
10    WHEREAS, John Beam began his career with Baxter & Woodman
11Consulting Engineers in 1969, and, in the early 1980s, he
12opened his own engineering firm, Beam Engineering; and
 
13    WHEREAS, John Beam was an avid golfer and enjoyed golfing
14at Chapel Hill Country Club; he also enjoyed muskie fishing in
15northern Wisconsin and Canada; and
 
16    WHEREAS, John Beam was preceded in death by his parents;
17and
 
18    WHEREAS, John Beam is survived by his wife of nearly 50
19years, Suzanne; 3 children, Jennifer (John) O'Connor, Howard
20Beam, and Jesse (Shyla) Beam; 2 grandchildren, Joslyn Beam and

1John Martin Beam; 2 brothers, Howard (Peggy) Beam and Gerald
2(Pat) Beam; and a sister, Judy (Jerry) Yocum; therefore, be it
 
3    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL
4ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
5John Thomas Beam, and extend our sincere condolences to his
6family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
7further
 
8    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
9presented to the family of John Beam as an expression of our
10deepest sympathy.
