SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Frederick William Noble of Woodstock, who passed away on July 8, 2013; and

WHEREAS, Frederick Noble was born on September 6, 1925, in Richmond to Fred and Edna (nee Smith) Noble; he served his country in the United States Army from 1943 to 1945, serving in England, France, and Germany; he married Rae Carlson on September 4, 1949, in Woodstock; and

WHEREAS, Frederick Noble worked as a machinist for Arnold Engineering and was shop steward and a member of the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers Local 1832 until his retirement in 1993; prior to that he worked as a mechanic and on the North Western Railroad; and

WHEREAS, Frederick Noble was a lifelong member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) and was the VFW Honor Guard Commander for many years; he was commander of VFW Post 5040 from 2008 to 2009; he was a member of AMVETS, the National Rifle Association, and Centerville Centerfire Collectors; and

WHEREAS, Frederick Noble enjoyed fishing, hunting pheasant, plants, watching the wildlife in his yard, and telling stories about the past; and

WHEREAS, Frederick Noble was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Oswald Noble; and his sister, Eulalia (Edward) O'Brien; and

WHEREAS, Frederick Noble is survived by his wife, Rae; his children, Deloris "Lorrie" (Sam) Simons, Mark Noble, and Erin Joosten; his grandchildren, Peter, Jeremy, and Kelly Simons and Lucas Noble; his sister-in-law, Evelyn Pratt; and his nephew, Tom Noble; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Frederick William Noble, and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Frederick Noble as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
