SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Frederick William Noble of Woodstock, who
4passed away on July 8, 2013; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Frederick Noble was born on September 6, 1925, in
6Richmond to Fred and Edna (nee Smith) Noble; he served his
7country in the United States Army from 1943 to 1945, serving in
8England, France, and Germany; he married Rae Carlson on
9September 4, 1949, in Woodstock; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Frederick Noble worked as a machinist for Arnold
11Engineering and was shop steward and a member of the
12International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers
13Local 1832 until his retirement in 1993; prior to that he
14worked as a mechanic and on the North Western Railroad; and
 
15    WHEREAS, Frederick Noble was a lifelong member of the
16Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) and was the VFW Honor Guard
17Commander for many years; he was commander of VFW Post 5040
18from 2008 to 2009; he was a member of AMVETS, the National
19Rifle Association, and Centerville Centerfire Collectors; and
 
20    WHEREAS, Frederick Noble enjoyed fishing, hunting
21pheasant, plants, watching the wildlife in his yard, and

1telling stories about the past; and
 
2    WHEREAS, Frederick Noble was preceded in death by his
3parents; his brother, Oswald Noble; and his sister, Eulalia
4(Edward) O'Brien; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Frederick Noble is survived by his wife, Rae; his
6children, Deloris "Lorrie" (Sam) Simons, Mark Noble, and Erin
7Joosten; his grandchildren, Peter, Jeremy, and Kelly Simons and
8Lucas Noble; his sister-in-law, Evelyn Pratt; and his nephew,
9Tom Noble; therefore, be it
 
10    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL
11ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
12Frederick William Noble, and extend our sincere condolences to
13his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
14further
 
15    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
16presented to the family of Frederick Noble as an expression of
17our deepest sympathy.
