SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Judith "Jude" Boyer of Bloomington, who
4died on December 23, 2012; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Judith Boyer was born in Des Moines, Iowa; she
6earned a bachelor of science degree from Grinnell College and a
7master of arts from Illinois State University; she retired in
82000 as vice-president of student affairs at Illinois State
9University after 32 years of service; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Judith Boyer took on many roles during her time at
11Illinois State University; she was the first university
12Affirmative Action officer for women, associate vice-president
13for student affairs, 1973-1999, and the vice-president for
14student affairs, 1999-2000; she was the NCAA Accreditation
15Committee chair, commencement coordinator, longtime Illinois
16Redbird Athletics booster and student leadership programs
17supporter, ISU Annuitants Association director, Annuitants
18Annual Membership Directory coordinator, University Club
19co-president, coordinator of the Gourmet Dinners Program, Red
20Tassel Chapter of Mortar Board advisor, and Delta Delta Delta
21sorority advisor and honorary member; and
 
22    WHEREAS, Judith Boyer loved spending time with her friends

1and students at ISU; she loved to travel the world and share
2her many experiences; and
 
3    WHEREAS, Judith Boyer is survived by her sister, Joyce
4(Jim) Bellamy and family and Arthur (Ruth "Pete") Boyer and
5family; therefore, be it
 
6    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL
7ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
8Judith Boyer, and we extend our sincere condolences to her
9family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it
10further
 
11    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
12presented to the family of Judith Boyer as an expression of our
13deepest sympathy.
