SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Barbara Ann "Bobbie" (nee Trainor) McNabola, who passed away on January 8, 2014; and

WHEREAS, Barbara McNabola was born on January 16, 1931 in Chicago to Margie and E.V. Trainor and grew up in the South Shore area; she met and married William McNabola in the early 1950s; and

WHEREAS, Barbara McNabola was raised with a strong religious conviction that guided her throughout her life; in times of good health she was a daily communicant and was seldom seen without her Rosary in the evenings; and

WHEREAS, Barbara McNabola was known as a "fashionista"; she found the most elegant clothes and accessories at resale shops and always dressed elegantly for any and all occasions; she was always seen with drop earrings, lots of jewelry, and several silver bracelets on each arm; and

WHEREAS, Barbara McNabola enjoyed spending time with family, talking on the phone with her sister and best friend, Peg, and driving, especially "top down" cars; and

WHEREAS, Barbara McNabola was a doting grandparent and proud of each of her 14 grandchildren; she was generous to everyone she met and always felt the need to help those who were less fortunate; and

WHEREAS, Barbara McNabola was the wife of William Francis McNabola, M.D.; the cherished mother of Mary Margaret "Buffy" (Rick) Rock, Thomas (Cheryl), Mark (Eileen), John (Jennifer), and Edward "Ted" (Katie); the beloved grandmother of Margee, Madeline, and Kathleen Rock; Brenden Burke and Matt; Luke, Molly, Jack, and Audrey; Gillian and Jessica; Maggie and Claire McNabola; and the late Patrick Burke; the dearest daughter of the late Majorie J. (nee Tully) and Edward "E.V." Trainor; the kindest sister of the late Edward "Tully" (the late Patricia) Trainor, the late Marjorie "Peggy" (Robert) White, and Daniel Trainor; and the loving aunt and great aunt of the White, Kennedy, and Boast families; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Barbara Ann "Bobbie" McNabola, and extend our sincere condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Barbara McNabola as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
