SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of David A. Murrey of Fox Lake, who passed away on February 21, 2014; and

WHEREAS, David Murrey was born on March 27, 1948 in Oak Park; his parents were Thomas D. and Loretta (nee Buikema) Murrey; and

WHEREAS, In 1973, David Murrey and his brother Greg formed a partnership and began Murrey Trucking; in 1979, they purchased a towing company; the business subsequently formed into Price Wrecker Services (DBA Price Services); and

WHEREAS, David Murrey was a founding member of the North American Rail Car Association and a founding member of Sons of American Legion Post 703, where he was a member for 49 years; and

WHEREAS, David Murrey loved tinkering, trains, and animals; and

WHEREAS, David Murrey was preceded in death by his brother, Thomas R. Murrey, and his parents; and

WHEREAS, David Murrey is survived by his daughter, Kelly (Mike Haidacher) Murrey; his siblings, Greg (Mary Johnson) Murrey, Kathleen (John) Pletz, and Patrick (Ginny) Murrey; and his many nieces, nephews, and other relatives; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his family and friends, mourn the passing of David A. Murrey; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of David Murrey as an expression of our sympathy.
