SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Lois M. DeWane of Woodstock, who passed away on February 16, 2014; and

WHEREAS, Lois DeWane was born in Sugar Grove and raised on the family farm; her parents were Elmer and Marion Myers; after the death of her father, she, her mother, and her sister moved to Belvidere to be with her brother, Everett; while in Belvidere, she met her future husband, Emmet J. DeWane, and they were married on June 9, 1951; after marrying, they settled in Woodstock, where they raised their family and would remain for the rest of their lives; and

WHEREAS, Lois DeWane was a beautician and later a stay at home mother for many years; she also worked at Woodstock Memorial Hospital for 15 years until her retirement; and

WHEREAS, Lois DeWane was preceded in death by her husband, Emmet; her parents; her siblings, Everett (Vera) Myers, Darwin Myers, and Dorothy (Edward) Young; and her brother and sister in-laws, Leo and Dorothy DeWane, Bernard and Arlene DeWane, Donald and Ann DeWane, JoAnn DeWane, and Gen (Russ) Osmun; and

WHEREAS, Lois DeWane is survived by her children, Gary (Tracey) DeWane, Sherry (Dennis) Pribble, Debra (Edward) Stewart, and Kelly DeWane; her grandchildren, Joshua Pribble, Jake Pribble, Veronica Stewart, and Brian Stewart; her brother-in-law, John DeWane; and her sister-in-law, Mary (nee DeWane) Statter; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with her family and friends, mourn the passing of Lois M. DeWane; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Lois DeWane as an expression of our sympathy.
